EINECS Description: An inorganic pigment that is the reaction product of high temperature calcination in which cobalt (II) oxide and tin (III) oxide in varying amounts are homogeneously and ionically interdiffused to Form a crystalline matrix of spinel. Its composition may include any one or a combination of the modifiers Al2O3, Fe2O3, or NiO.

Colour Index Description: For ceramic purposes produced by high temperature calcination of a mixture of oxides of cobalt and tin in varying quantities to Form a matrix of inverse spinel.

Generic formula: Co2SnO4
